Client Overview:

Sometimes you come to a profession by a default. When hiring an interior designer to help with her first home Jill was quickly asked to come to work for the design firm she had hired. Coming off ten years of international travel as a fashion model with Ford Models in NY, and with an art degree from school in Sweden, working in interior design was a natural unexpected fit. With requests to design homes Jill started her own firm, Marmalade Interiors in Virginia and soon found herself designing high end homes for Washington’s elite. With a passion for antiques and old world interiors she set about to create her vision. Her style continually morphs and today she is known for her unique style -using bold color combinations, and a fearless mix of expensive antiques, modern pieces and flea market finds to create modern and elegant interiors influenced by her Swedish background.

Her passion to help others (she is the founder of Knock Out Abuse Against Women, a charity that supports victims of domestic violence) has affected every area of her life. She was instrumental in creating Sharing Spaces, a program that with the aid of a community furniture drive redesigns domestic violence shelters to improve the lives of women and children. Marmalade also designs and sells a line of high end custom vintage furniture in an effort to contribute to a green environment.
